Implantation of grafts in the recipient area :
incisions : Lateral Slit” technique, to ensure optimal coverage and a natural appearance
placement of grafts : high-density placement of 40-50 follicular units per square centimeter
Biography : Dr. Konstantinos Anastassakis is a certified hair transplant surgeon based in Athens, Greece, and one of only 220 Diplomates of the American Board of Hair Restoration Surgery (ABHRS) worldwide since 2015. He has served as Treasurer, Secretary, and Vice President of the ABHRS Board of Directors from 2017 to 2021, making him the only Greek physician to have held such senior positions. He is also a member of the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (ISHRS) since 2009 and has been an ISHRS Fellow since 2019.
He maintains an active scientific and educational presence in the field of hair transplantation and hair loss treatment, with more than 120 scientific presentations and lectures at international conferences, as well as a substantial body of published work in peer-reviewed journals such as Facial Plastic Surgery and contributions to international textbooks including Hair Loss Advances and Treatments, part of the book series, Updates in Clinical Dermatology (Springer, 2024).
He is the author of “Androgenetic Alopecia from A to Z” (Springer, 2023), following the earlier Greek edition published in 2015. He has also contributed chapters to the international scientific textbook Hair Loss Advances and Treatments, part of the book series, Updates in Clinical Dermatology (Springer, 2024), including “Hair Follicle Cloning and Stem Cells” and “Hair Transplantation—From the ‘Ancient’ 4 mm Plugs to the Latest Follicular Unit Excision Technique: 8 Decades of Painful Progress”. In addition, he is the author of the publication “Paradigm shift from linear strip to follicular unit excision in hair restoration surgery” in Facial Plastic Surgery (2024).
