Crown Area Transplant

The Vertex Challenge

The crown (vertex) is the swirling area at the back of the head. Transplanting here is challenging because of the whorl pattern and the large surface area requiring many grafts.

Considerations

  • Blood Supply: Lower than the front, so growth can be slower.
  • Angle: Hair must follow the natural spiral.

Pros

  • Restores full coverage
  • Natural swirl recreation
  • Permanent solution

Cons

  • Requires many grafts
  • Slower growth than hairline
  • May need two sessions for high density
